Strategy
Everything we dobegins with “why”?
We build audiences by being curious. We ask why – a lot. We also figure out where your audience is right now. We relate to them. When people recognise themselves in the story, they lean in.
Then we take them where you want them to go. No force, no fuss. Facts and real feelings. We mix them so that strategy becomes experience.
That’s where production comes in…
Training
To make our Strategy, Production and Design offering land and really stick -we get
involved in how your people represent your brand on the frontline. Emotional and
situational awareness changes your value prop exponentially.
When people feel recognised and respected, they return; otherwise, they disengage.
We’ve looked all over the world, and chosen a blend of Augusto Boal’s Rehearsing for
Real Life as a major influence; and we’ve added our own theatre training and John’s
pioneering work on what makes South Africans tick. The result is “the OGO Magic.”
Using performance techniques, we help people understand how to read customers in
real time, and build trust swiftly. Empathy in practice is good for the world
and also makes kaching. We’re happy to meet your CFO and take them through the
business case for empathy on the frontline.
Our theatre-based training breathes new life into teams: they’ll master clarity,
presence, and awareness. And they’ll stand out, you’ll see more return business, and
increasing brand devotion. We didn’t make this up, it’s science : )
Nat’elier Frontline Experience Training
Client: Nat’elier
Industry: Retail / Hospitality
Scope: Theatre-Based Training, Experience Design, Custom Curriculum Development
The Challenge: Great Product – Mild Experience
This new confectioner opened doors in the heart of historic Lisbon amongst several established competitors. The product is excellent, and the young founders bring innovation in constant flavour variants linked to social trends. The branding was formulaic, and the creative strategy platform wasn’t focused.
Our proposal was to guide the founders in firmly placing their personal values at the heart of the brand. We repositioned them to offer human connection through premium confection, rather than going head-to-head against competitors. We quickly found that the staff struggled to carry the values into every interaction, and we needed some training that would quickly change their daily behaviour on the front line.
Traditional training just wasn’t enough. Box-ticking doesn’t create connections. Awareness does.
The Insight
The Solution
OGO designed a theatre-based training programme rooted in identity, trust, and perception. A fully customised manual translated these ideas into practical behaviours for the Nat’elier team.
Using live performance techniques, role-play, and facilitated scenarios, staff were trained to understand how they show up, how customers interpret that presence, and how small shifts in behaviour can change the entire experience. The work focused on clarity of identity (“who am I in this space?”), trust-building micro-actions, and reading customer cues in real time.
The Impact
The result was a total shift in the energy of the store – staff now practice vulnerability, self-reflection and communication among themselves, becoming more present, more responsive and more human.
We designed a living brand experience—where every team member became an active contributor to Nat’elier’s reputation.
After the implementation, Nat’elier saw a nice boost in revenue, more repeat visits from customers, and better reviews from international tourists on social media worldwide—all thanks to their warm and genuine approach to connecting with people.
Training transformed into a marketing journey. Instead of just instructing the audience, we focused on building relationships, one interaction at a time. Our mix of in-person and online engagement, supported by AI translation for added understanding, along with our collaborative content creation with trainers, helped foster a self-sustaining group that mostly manages itself, needing only occasional catch-ups and assessments.
Customers who feel seen and heard stay longer, spend more, and return more frequently. Your people will feel more confident and connected to their roles. They’ll stay home less often and have more energy for the work, because it becomes more rewarding for them too.
When the frontline experience improves, growth follows.
